Trump plans to choose experienced politician for VP
The Hill ^ | April 2, 2016 | Evelyn Rupert

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said he is "95 percent" sure he would pick a veteran politician for vice president if elected.

He said he would choose “somebody that can walk into the Senate and who’s been friendly with these guys for 25 years, and people for 25 years and can get things done" in an extensive interview with The Washington Post published Saturday.

“So I would 95 percent see myself picking a political person, as opposed to somebody from the outside," he said.

So ... you people are suddenly okay with a politician?

Hmmm ... how does that work. I thought you were for an outsider?

And, maybe Donald had better worry about securing the nomination ...far from a done deal, Don.

Sessions is 69 years old like Trump.

I don’t know that two old (white) guys will sell as GOP ticket......against a woman and whomever she picks as VP.

I’d vote for them on what Trump says he’ll do/aim for, but so many in this country seem to prioritize looks, tone, race, gender and all when choosing.

"Probably knowing how the system works and how to get things done in DC."

Hi COUNTrecount. Given the remote possibility that you are not already aware of this, did you know that one of the very few powers that the states have actually delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, to regulate domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service (1.8.7)?

Nearly everything else that the feds do in the name of domestic policy is based on 10th Amendment-protected state powers and state revenues which the corrupt feds have stolen from the states by means of unconstitutional federal taxes.

In fact, a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that Congress is prohibited from appropriating taxes in the name of state power issues, essentially any issue that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Remember in November !

If patriots elect Trump, Cruz, or whatever conservative they elect, they will also need to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to not only support the president, but also surrender back to the states state powers and state revenues that the corrupt feds have been stealing from the states.

In fact, note that such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.

From Huff Po a few weeks ago

GOP Establishment fixtures holding a secret meeting with decidedly non-conservative billionaires at a posh island resort to plot against him [Trump]. According to the Huffington Post, that’s exactly what happened at the American Enterprise Institute’s annual World Forum last weekend:

Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google co-founder Larry Page, Napster creator and Facebook investor Sean Parker, and Tesla Motors and SpaceX honcho Elon Musk all attended. So did Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)42% (R-Ky.), political guru Karl Rove, House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)56% , GOP Sens. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR)77% (Ark.), Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO)38% (Colo.), Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC)88% (S.C.), Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH)51% (Ohio) and Ben Sasse (Neb.), who recently made news by saying he “cannot support Donald Trump.” Along with Ryan, the House was represented by Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI)40% (Mich.), Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX)57% (Texas) and almost-Speaker Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)40% (Calif.), sources said, along with leadership figure Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA)44% (Wash.), Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Tom Price (R-GA)68% (R-Ga.), Financial Services Committee Chairman Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX)71% (Texas) and Rep. Diane Black (R-TN)67% (Tenn.).

Philip Anschutz, the billionaire GOP donor whose company owns a stake in Sea Island, was also there, along with Democratic Rep. John Delaney (D-MD)4% , who represents Maryland. Arthur Sulzberger, the publisher of The New York Times, was there, too, a Times spokeswoman confirmed.

In the late 1960s, it became the practice of the principal candidate in presidential elections to announce his preferred choice of running mate at his political party's national convention. The current practice is for the presumptive nominee of a political party to announce his or her choice for running mate before the national convention which, because of the extensive primary election and caucus system, is becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Sessions. He is an honest man. A Truman type when Harry was not pretending to be a bantam rooster type.

Has anyone questioned Tom Cotton about this? He always seemed like one of the good ones to me. But I thought that about Haley and Love, so what the heck do I know.

Oh noes...NO Kanye?

Well he floated him early on, but now his newest requirement for VP rules out The Kanye - and has a very definition of Hillary or harry Reid, possibly Bob Dole, Orin hatch, or McCain. But his description mostly fits Harry Reid.

Kanye will have to solve his own bankruptcy issues

My money is on a dark horse no one has considered but he would make a fine VP and a fine President if necessary:

former Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina.
