Seriously, I heard a lot of states wouldn’t allow it if the candidate was previously running in one of the two parties that already held primaries.

Yep, and that point was ignored as Wallace interviewed that weasel Priebus. I still don;t understand Priebus's point about sharing RNC resources, that "the pledge" is a condition of RNC support. I take it that this is Priebus telegraphing that the RNC's support of its own nominee is conditional. It is abundantly clear that all forces, including the RNC, are working overtime to undercut Trump's support.

Trashing Trump on abortion. Abortion - the 'religion' of DC liberal elite 'men' is sex without responsibility. The religion of DC liberal elite woman's is 'KILL THE BABY'..."KILL THE BABY' - especially if it's husband's 'love child'. Did Hillary arrange abortions for Bill's victims? Maybe "Meet the Press" will ask... LOL - kidding - they would never ask... truth has the wrong 'tone'..
There are two very real barriers though. One is sore loser laws in place in many states, and the other (unless Trump signs on with a party already in place in enough states) filing deadlines to run as an independent.
Trump's best chance is to win the republican nomination. It is also the best outcome to re-establish partisanship, and stifle the "reach around politics" that is in place these days. The disgruntled RNC party leadership can bolt to the DEM party, which is where they fit better.

Write ins don’t count as votes for presidential elections, because the president is indirectly elected - see electoral college. The only value a write in has is as an expression of protest, a “none of the above” vote.
