Clean sweep for Cruz in early stages of Colorado delegate hunt
CNN ^ | 4/2/2016 | Robert Yoon

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz picked up six delegates in Colorado on Saturday, shutting out Donald Trump and Ohio Gov. John Kasich on the opening day of the state's complicated delegate selection process, the state GOP said.

Cruz supporters won all the delegate slots in the state's 1st and 6th congressional districts, representing the Denver and Aurora areas. Delegates from the state's five other districts will be selected on Thursday and Friday.

The value of this primary election season, perhaps more than anything else, is that it has exposed the cesspool that is party politics, on both sides. We the people ... Are being taken for a ride.

You can say That again !

http://www.nationalaffairs.com/publications/detail/a-republican-nomination-process

The above is a long but interesting history of the Republican nomination process. Prior to 1972 the nominee was chosen by consensus by party leaders for each state. The Democrats had a similar thing, but the liberal democrats wanted the people more involved with primary voting and open caucuses and such. The Republicans followed suit.

The author of the piece (written in 2013 after the failed Romney election) argues that the way we do it now is a failed process with the long nomination process, all of the dirt being thrown that weakens the eventual nominee, the money involved (with less to spend on the national election) and the divided spirit of the GOP.

Look, sorry your guy lost. I can’t control that.

If the members of the Republican Party of Colorado want to change how they elect their delegates, they should change it.

Just because its not how you like it doesn’t make it un-American...

Not sure what my faith has to do with this at all... I’ve had this tagline set this way since I joined here... and it will stay...

I’m a Christian before all else, an American after that, and a conservative to wrap things up...

Its defines who I am, and where my priorities lie:
God, Country, and Principles.

Sorry if that offended you...

“It’s a closed Caucus. LOL”

> No. It’s not. The caucuses are wide open to any Republican in Colorado.

“Owned by the GOPe, now Ted’s parent organization.”

> I’m from Colorado. The GOP-E hates the Colorado Caucuses here because that’s how we put conservatives on the primary ballots. I have been fighting that fight for years now.

> I’ll tell you what. I promise not to pretend that I’m an expert on Calif. Republican politics if you refrain from spouting nonsense about CO.

Just read Cruz may be on the DC Madame List, with all those calls from TEXAS, and supposedly promises to keep one presidential name off the exposure list. There was a thread up awhile ago that was sourced at “Stumpin’ for TRUMP”.

Reading that article, I noticed the DC MADAME title in the margin of the site page.

Nothing is “clean” in this process.

Just one more thing DT has highlighted during this election process.

Just how damn rigged / awful / shameful the whole damn primary bull$hit game is.

I can answer that one for you: Yes, yes they would rather we do that.

In order to be a Trump supporter, you have to sell out on all your principles and convictions.

From their perspective, since they were willing to do it, why shouldn’t we?

Well forget that! I stand for what I believe in! I stand to protect the unborn! I stand to protect personal property rights! I stand to fight big government! I stand to fight the homosexual agenda! I stand up to bullies! I stand up to the New York City, liberal mindset! I stand for lower taxes! I stand for free trade because free market Capitalism is the best economic system ever devised by man! I stand for the United States Constitution and its authority over this nation, second to only God himself.
NO MAN, NO MATTER HOW POPULAR WILL TAKE MY GOD GIVEN RIGHTS FROM ME.

Only a fool abandons their principles and beliefs to support a candidate, especially when we have the most conservative candidate to run in decades inching towards a win. I will not go into the night without fighting for what I believe in, no matter how popular some candidate is. No matter the criticism I face, I will not give up on conservatism, both political nor social.

Our future’s only hope is constitutional conservatism, and those on this conservative board who have abandoned it, have abandoned our nation in our darkest hour. In my book, they are nothing but cowards, unwilling to stand when the times demand it. Instead, they bend their backs for the promised notion of “winning”... and they are angry so we better listen to them...

Well screw that! I’m ANGRY too! I’m angry at this disgusting display of character assassination and outright lying being portrayed DAILY by these charlatans. These people who lie and impune the character of not just Senator Cruz, but of each and every one of us who stand against the selling out of conservative principles. I’m angry at those that wish to lie over and over, constantly for the sake of political advancement of their candidate. Questioning people’s beliefs in God almighty because we would dare not support their political candidate.

I’m angry at the utter immaturity being brought to the table by this liberal bully from New York who does nothing but attack his opponents character without ANY substance in regards to his policies or solutions.

I’m angry at the flat out sycophant level support his supporters show, unwilling to take just a BRIEF moment to critically examine what this person is saying and doing, especially given the forty years of history we have on him and his support of every liberal policy under the sun.

I want to win too, but I’ll be damned if it is at the cost of my liberty and belief structure. I will not support baby killing. I will not support homosexual marriage. I will not support the economy killing import tariffs and ensuing trade wars. I will not support universal, government paid healthcare. I will not support the governmental theft of private land from one individual to another. I will not support these radical liberal ideologies just so I can claim I “won”.

If I have to sell everything I am, turn my back on everything I believe to win, well, then I have already lost.

If winning demands redefining what a win is, and at the end of the day it is not different in the slightest from what I was standing against when I started, it is not a win, it is a loss.

Screw liberalism and those that pedal it with a masquerade of “Making America Great Again”...

America is already GREAT... All we need to do is highlight what it is that MAKES us great... our liberty... our conservatism... our freedom to make something of yourself...

Empty promises and empty platitudes be damned: conservatism is the only true solution to our nation’s issues, and those that get in its way, better get out of it, because WE are not giving up without a fight.

No, no. You forget.

The Establishment props Cruz up and these state officials are doing the delegate picking. These state delegates are by large measure not Cruz supporters, but rather ANTI-TRump supporters who also happen to be Establishment delegates picking more ANTI-TRump establishment delegates.

They go in appearing as Cruz supporters, goofy, but at Convention they will go THIRD BALLOT straight up for the Establishment insider, like Bush, or Ryan, etc., and it will be a voice vote, like in ‘12 against the Ron Paul forces.

The “Ayes” will be deemed to have it, the gavel will fall and the party is over. Cruz will be in the dust bin, having been kicked to the curb, scratching around looking under rocks for all those so called, “Cruz delegates” of his. They went that-a-way.

Cruzaders will not be seen nor heard of for days, curled up in the fetal position with their thumb in their mouth, wondering why after TRUMP was nicely robbed that their globalist guy with the cutesy globalist wife isn’t the nominee.

Give us a ring when you sober up. This about Third Ballot Delegates they are giving to Cruz. He thinks they are *for* him. Squat and watch the outcome.

I plan on it.
Cruz will either secure the nomination before the convention, or soundly defeat Trump on the second ballot of the contested convention.

I planning on watching and enjoying.

He’s learned enough to roll you. Keep your back against a wall. TRUMP is so definitely still ahead in the popular vote, which Cruz has had to cede to him, and he’s leading even in delegates, which Cruz has had to prostitute himself for the Establishment to have a prayer to catch up.

BACKLASH coming on Cruz and the DC boys in bed together. It doesn’t sell.

I think he means the race is going to be decided not by majority popular vote, but by a delegate count at convention that is unbound and thereby without regard to the majority winner of the people’s votes that gave it to TRUMP.

Delegates get four votes. You only got one, on primary day.

Heh, heh. Cruz will never secure the 1237.

The Establishment will dump Cruz when he can’t make the 1237 on the Second Ballot, because they will see that he doesn’t, and he’s a goner on the THIRD Ballot.

If they should successfully take out TRUMP, I promise, Cruz will be a piece of cake.

Let Tedlit be the mule for that DC Cartel he bitches about. Let them ride him all the way to the Convention. Then he gets the same Mississippi Treatment they are experimenting with now, against TRUMP.
Are your eyes green too? As in greenhorn. You really think the Establishment is going to give this to Cruz?
(smirk.) :/

Cruz is done. It’s all over but the crying, whether that crying comes from getting wiped by Trump or stabbed in the back by his buddies in the RNC.

Finished. Kaput. Finito. He’s not pining for the fjords; this is an ex-candidate.

Well, the top court in Trump's home state has ruled Cruz is eligible. Albeit on a technicality. The Trump supporters (I don't know how official their effort was) waited too long to file their case. If they can't organize a mere campaign any better than this how can they expect to organize and run the country?
