I don’t have anything like that to back it up. I grew up in California and have lived here most of my life. Born in ‘64, I remember it being brought up by a few teachers and what the now-employed-hippies said about it. I watched Gimme Shelter decades ago, but recall it slanted to the false narrative too. I do remember all of this footage about the stabbing, slow motion and zoomed in. My feeling about Altamont was like my reaction to learning a bunch of things in my late teens and early twenties. Like learning that Lincoln did not, could not, free the slaves. 1,000s of things they told us growing up here weren’t true.
