Remember when some kid broke an arm? Heck, that was a way of life. Nobody even gave it a second thought. The kid who broke the arm would be back at it in a few days. If he wasnt, he might be called a sissy.

The Ol Man used to haul us out in the woods to peel popple. It all went OK till we got to screwing around and getting into stick fights and what not. He decided that 10 am was quiting time after a while so we could get it out of our system.

Oh and if we found a hornets nest? OH MAN, that was great fun. Just had to have a good go at those. That was the ultimate.

I do remember that. It happened all the time.

I remember with some friends when we were doing "banana bike" jumps off of a retaining wall. Yeah we all did that.

It was getting dark one night and the kid from the house we were jumping at took a wild swing off the wall and into the families car. A piece of door chrome went into his leg.

I was getting ready to go for help and he stopped me at first as he was trying to stop his leg from bleeding. He was afraid his father would kill us.

His father didn't kill us. His dad cut the chrome piece off the car and made us all promise never to that again. The ambulance arrived a short time later.

Didn't even make the local paper.
