GOP presidential candidate Donald J. Trump is taking a beating from the press over his flip-flops on abortion. But the leading Democrat candidate for president, Hillary Clinton, has escaped serious scrutiny over her extreme position that would seem to prohibit any restrictions on the procedure.
Trump regularly compares his flip-flops to how Ronald Reagan changed on the issue. Of course, Reagan changed in a much more dramatic and thoughtful way. He actually authored a major essay [1], 3,600 words in length, which was made into a small book, Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation [2].
Trump has posted an eloquent 600-word statement [3] that notes that he did not always hold the pro-life position, but I had a significant personal experience that brought the precious gift of life into perspective for me. He previously had said that what happened is friends of mine years ago were going to have a child, and it was going to be aborted. And it wasnt aborted. And that child today is a total superstar, a great, great child.

This is what recently happened. The corrupt media took a hypothetical conversation out of context and turned it into ridiculous statements like: Trump hates women and Trump is a bully and Trump wants to punish every woman who ever had an abortion.
This is deliberate. The media will not allow an intelligent, principled discussion of abortion. They will try to create quotes out of context that they can use to attack all pro life candidates.
Trump,a pro life candidate, was targeted this time.
In the general election any pro life candidate will be targeted.
We must support pro life candidates and reject the dishonesty of the media.
For some insight on why Trump fumbled...
the never thought about it is just as damning as the aborting of the loser child.
That’s a thing that gets me. Trump took on a horrible situation and did his best with this thing being asked of him out of the blue. He deserves points for courage and good faith just in being willing to try to reason something out with a hot Mic in front of him. Was that his final answer, of course not. Do I buy the “outrage”? Of course not! I can’t speak for other women, but for sure my b.s. detector is going off over all of this! I just get a sick feeling in my stomach watching all the piling on. Its frustrating!
Don’t even get me started on the coreless wonder, Hillary.
there.. FIXED IT.
It was Trump's job to turn Matthews question around to talk about Hillary's support for all abortions, not get both sides mad at him at same time.
He proved he is not close to ready.
His shopping around for cooperative interviewers contributed to his meltdown.
“It was Trump’s job to turn Matthews question around to talk about Hillary’s support for all abortions, not get both sides mad at him at same time.”
So you think Chrissy Matthews is an honest, unbiased interviewer who just wanted to discuss the issues.
And you think it was all Trump’s fault.
And Trump really does hate all women and really does want to punish every woman who ever had an abortion.
All women? That's not even a real question.
As abortion goes, its obvious that Trump couldn't care less about the issue, never gave it much thought, never talked to pro-lifers about it, resulting in his meltdown last week.
He just blurted out what he thought Republicans wanted to hear, as usual.
Trump seemed to think so
He hides from Megyn Kelly yet goes on Hardball for a whole hour, then sticks his foot in his mouth,
It troubles me greatly how little he really cares about the issue of life. The only reason it is a problem for him is because trying to explain himself shows how little command he really has of all the fundamental issues. He gets caught in a snafu and he talks to some people and viola he then somehow sounds like he knows the issue. That bothers me. We really don’t need another person that we have to train for the job. He needs to show competent knowledge on the fundamental issues from day one.
That’s what happens when you play patsies with the likes of Sissy Matthews and start answering hypotheticals.
The same media that has given him millions of dollars in free publicity is the same media that will destroy him.
I have believed that since the beginning.
Funny, John McCain thought the media liked him, also. Until he became the nominee. Then his was no longer the “Maverick”.
John McCain II: The Sequel.
Double BUMP!
At least they started early.
I thought they would wait till summer.
