Townhall reporter Guy Benson today admitted the Cruz campaign is stealing Trump delegates in states that Trump won.
The Ted Cruz campaign is running Cruz supporters as Trump delegates in states that Trump won. That way they can steal the nomination from Trump in Cleveland although they’ve only won a fraction of the states Trump has won.
Guy Benson: This has been percolating for several months. He has a very sharp legal team that know the rules inside and out in a way the Trump campaign clearly does not. It’s not just Louisiana. And it’s not just finagling to just get Rubio delegates or unbound delegates. What they’re also doing is getting people elected as Trump delegates who are not, in fact, Trump loyalists. So they would be bound to Donald Trump on the first ballot only. After which, although they are technically Trump delegates, they’ve been sort of put in place to jump.
And these are the same people who call Trump supporters ‘morons’ one day and beg them to support Ted Cruz the next.
CONFIRMED: Cruz Camp Stealing Trump Delegates at State Level
And that attitude is one reason why more and more people are losing any respect for the Cruz supporters on FR.
You can “feel” like that all you please.
As I stated previously, your belief will also end in a Cruz loss in the general election if he is the eventual nominee, and it will be an even uglier loss if he obtains the nomination in the fashion you desire, which of course, is the only possible chance he could become the nominee.
Very insightful position you advocate.
Please list ONE state where Trump won a majority of the votes...
Spoken by some one who knows the rules....And Trump nor his minions can just make them up!!!
Hot damn, I like that! You've earned a very noble place in my Hall of Tortured Linguistics!
Thank You!
CA....
I can live with that!!
And you can ride your rules all the way to an embarrassing defeat in the general.
Nonsense. Trump hasn’t won a majority of votes in any state.
There’s nothing backhanded about it. This is the process when no one wins a majority.
Now, you Trump humpers are correct that someone in his position should be able to wheel and deal to get the delegates he needs to go over the top on a second ballot.
If he can’t that is a testimony to his inability to make a deal. Which is supposed to be his strength.
Ironic, isn’t it?
I guess being an unlikable boor leading a coalition trying to kill the party has its drawbacks when you need allies.
You can blather all you want...if Trump doesn’t get 1237 delegates he will be sitting home...and I don’t care what you think or do!!!
I will enjoy the ride.....looking forward to it!!
I am sure the Donald himself would approve of the principle of “win or shut up you whining loser.”
I’m saying in Nov 2012, a mediocre candidate from Massachusetts got a higher percentage of the popular vote in TEXAS than “wildly popular” favorite son Ted Cruz.
I’ve never questioned his philosophy, he’s just not an appealing “retail” politician. Maybe in the next 4 or 8 years he improves.
Counting that as a win is laughable.
You can deny it all you want, but hey, if you want to back a guaranteed loser, that’s fine by me.
Enjoy!
Different number of candidates, and different situation.
There were twice as many candidates divvying up the vote, and general elections bring in more voters.
No comparison reasonably possible. IOW your claim was a ridiculous red herring (and wow am I surprised).
In the Nov 2012 Texas election for US Senator, there were 6 candidates on the ballot but only 3 received a significant number of votes.
In the Nov 2012 Texas election for US President, there were 7 candidates on the ballot but only 3 received a significant number of votes.
nump
Yes, counting actually winning the nomination as a “win” is laughable in Trump’s bizarro world.
If it’s legitimately contested, in that no one gets the 1237, then I will vote for the eventual nominee. I’ll only withhold if it’s clear that shenanigans are at play.
You WILL ALL get the KARMA you deserve!!!! Trump HUMPERS very nice, you are EXACTLY like your candidate very slimy!!!!
Well if a reporter said it. It Must be true! /s
It is already obvious that anyone getting 50+1 is very unlikely.
That is why the smart delegate negotiations were so imperative, and why Trump is basically angry at himself for not hiring an experienced team to manage delegate signups.
As it progresses, it will get tense, and tempers will be lost frequently. Conventions are not all fun and games, like they are presented on TV.
If Trump has really burned his bridges with the party, he will be an unhappy camper for sure, as the whole system is built around the parties.
Ring kissing is important; always has been, but the alternative is worse by orders of magnitude. Just look at Britain, France and Germany.
