WASHINGTON The Pennsylvania Supreme Court affirmed Sen. Ted Cruzs slot on the state presidential ballot Thursday, siding with a lower-court ruling that declared the senator is a natural-born citizen.
The court turned away an appeal from Pittsburgh resident Carmon Elliott, who had sued to boot Cruz from the states April 26 primary. Elliott had claimed that Cruzs birth in Canada excluded him from natural-born citizenship a constitutional requirement for the presidency.
Cruz, who has faced multiple lawsuits on his citizenship status, was born in Canada to an American mother in 1970. He and his lawyers have argued that his mothers citizenship made him natural born, regardless of the location of his birth.
A Commonwealth Court judge first ruled against Elliotts lawsuit March 10, declaring that a natural-born citizen includes any person who is a United States citizen from birth.
Elliott then appealed the decision to the state Supreme Court, which issued an order Thursday denying his appeal.
At least six other lawsuits against Cruz have been dismissed, though federal cases are pending in Texas and Alabama. Most of the cases that have been tossed so far have been dismissed on procedural grounds, excepting Elliotts original lawsuit.

The birthers will be on here to disagree shortly, and provide us with their brilliant insight.
Ummm, we happen to know where Cruz was born, so the usual Birthers insult is kinda dumb, don'cha think?
How about NBC'ers or better yet, Constitutionalists.
Yeah, use that last one.
And this is the end of the road since the Rumpy The Clueless Wonder just stated that SCOTUS’s job was to investigate Hillary’s emails.
Thanks for the informative reply.
From their titles, these articles sound as though they may be serious legal discussions, as opposed to opinion/attitude pieces such as one might find in Newsweek, the New York Times, or National Enquirer.
WHERE are Cruz’s filings necessary to give him birthright citizenship?
We kNOW he has a Canadian birth certificate. Where are his AMERICAN papers?
What about his mother’s maiden name listed as WILSON instead of Darragh?
How did she vote in Canada without being a Cnadian citizen? When and where did she renounce her American citizenship? When, IF EVER, did she get it back?
I don’t believe Cruz is even an American citizen. I see no proof of it, let alone be a NATURAL BORN citizen!
I’m sure the Clinton private detective squad has most of those documents (if they exist) and will reveal as needed down the line.
I wouldn’t be surprised!
I don’t put much stock in Clement and Katyal.
THey'll back Cruz, once all the courts have ruled in Cruz's favor. Besides Scotus, Districts (94), Circuit (13), SCOT-states (50), Probate courts, plus all the civil and criminal courts. Traffic courts too. 10 down, just another 100000 to go.
I think they had the info on Obama, but the Chicago Mob intimidated them with info on Arkancides.
RE: WHERE are Cruzs filings necessary to give him birthright citizenship?
Did he have to apply for naturalization in order to receive his US passport? If not, then he is considered a citizen by birth.
RE: We kNOW he has a Canadian birth certificate. Where are his AMERICAN papers?
He has an American passport.
RE: What about his mothers maiden name listed as WILSON instead of Darragh?
Ted Cruzs own birth certificate listed his mother as Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson. Elizabeth was her mothers first name, and Wilson is a surname from a previous marriage.
RE: How did she vote in Canada without being a Cnadian citizen?
Not sure where you got the information that she was able to vote in Canada.
RE: When and where did she renounce her American citizenship?
Did she?
Please say it aint so? Bwahahahaha Ole Donnie, he is a entertainer isn't he?
Ted Cruzs own birth certificate listed his mother as Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson. Elizabeth was her mothers first name, and Wilson is a surname from a previous marriage.

So go back and LOOK at his Canadian Birth Certificate and you will see WILSON is on the line asking for the mother’s maiden name. MAIDEN NAME?
The State Supreme Court affirmed a lower state court decision based on law review articles without comment. It’s a win but the issue hasn’t been litigated yet. I can assure you the SCOTUS isn’t deciding what’s an NBC based on law review articles. The win is below. That’s all they said.
PER CURIAM DECIDED: March 31, 2016
AND NOW, this 31
st
day of March, 2016, the Order of the Commonwealth Court
is hereby AFFIRMED. Victor Williamss pro se Notice to Intervene as Appellant is
DENIED. Appellants Application for Oral Argument is DENIED.

People make mistakes all the time. People, even after they divorce, usually continue taking on their previous husband’s surname.
The issue is this -— WAS TED CRUZ’s mother an American citizen at the time of his birth? Did Ted Cruz have to go through naturalization in order to receive his US passport?
If the answers are ‘Yes’ to the first and ‘No’ to the second, then he is a US citizen by birth.
SEE HERE:
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/01/08/ted-cruz-mother-birth-certificate/
The Cruz campaign told Breitbart News on Friday that Cruzs mother had never become a Canadian citizen.
She was in Canada on a work permit and never became a permanent resident, let alone a citizen, said Jason Johnson, chief strategist for the Cruz campaign.
She never registered to vote and never applied for Canadian citizenship.
In a subsequent statement to Breitbart News, Johnson added:
Eleanor was never a citizen of Canada, and she could not have been under the facts or the law. In short, she did not live in Canada long enough to be a Canadian citizen by the time Cruz was born in 1970: Canadian law required 5 years of permanent residence, and she moved to Canada in December 1967only 3 years before Senator Cruzs birth.
> a US citizen by birth.
Did the citizen parent have to met the requirement of statute?
I guess anchor babies are eligible. Good to know.
Im sure the Clinton private detective squad has most of those documents (if they exist) and will reveal as needed down the line.

Yep.
Thats Ok, i get emails every day saying i’m eligible to win a daily Lottery.
LOL! Add that to Trump’s assertion that Alito signed a law and it really underscores just how Clueless Donald is. It’s embarrassing to anyone with minimum standards for a candidate.
