Well, ya gotta pay for newspapers. Or not. LOL! Do you have to pay to speak your mind? Coming soon. Protected rights my butt.
Dear yo,
Obviously, you did NOT read where I stated the
STATE CHL is currently $500.00 at one pop. Sure, it’s for
5 years, but WHO THESE DAYS HAS FIVE
HUNDRED DOLLARS TO SHELLOUT, which does
not include your buying the passport photos,
the obtainment of your fingerprints from the
sheriffs department-at cost.
My Parish CHL, with no need to chase down a
passport photo, or fingerprints, and an ANNUAL
$10.00 fee, sure fits my fixed income a lot better.
(Maybe because I am a milvet might help.)
From one vet to another, thank you for your service to our country.
The current state of Louisiana CHL fee is $125 for 5 years if you are under 65, and $62.50 if you are a veteran or are 65 or older.
As a veteran, you would qualify for the 5 year $62.50 license, which is $12.50 per year.
If you haven't resided in Louisiana continuously for the previous 15 years, there is an additional $50 fee, for a total of $175 or $112.50 for new comers.
The cost that you are referring to is for a lifetime license at $500. For Veterans and those over 65, the cost for a lifetime license is $250.
Dear yo,
1. I spent the Miilenium celebrations in New Orleans.
2. Since due to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina,
I am no longer in the NOLA metropolitan area, I
won’t be crossing parish lines to travel
‘downtown’, therefore a State CHL is not a
necessity, and a parish level one will do.
3. Further reasoning is, I live in what hopes to be
a modern town, someday, but am ‘hours’ from
what is considered ‘civilization’.
Thank you for your input.
