Actually if you watch Trump during these town hall interviews, and watch Cruz, Trump actually answers the questions.
Cruz dodges them
I agree that all politicians seem to intentionally answer questions. That includes Cruz. I thought my first comment included all politicians. Thank you for your comment. I haven’t mad the time to listen to/watch every townhall. I just know the evasion from appearances on radio and televisions. It is a universal in today’s political environment. I think it results from people trying to get a 20 second sound bite.

It seems that others comments have prejudged the premise of the article without reading it. They reflect what is wrong with our country. We can’t seem to have an adult discussion when disagreement is a possibility. It’s sad.

Sen. Ted Cruz was more deft in his handling of a question about abortion criminalization than Donald Trump.
Trump once again hijacked the news cycle with some incendiary remarks Wednesday, telling MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that there should be “some punishment” for women who get an abortion.
Cruz was able to dodge a question on the subject at the Jan. 2015 Iowa Freedom Summit, two months before he declared his candidacy for president. A reporter asked Cruz if doctors or women seeking abortions should be prosecuted, in the event that abortion becomes illegal.
Cruz averred his anti-abortion stance, but dodged the question twice. Check out the clip from C-SPAN above."
