The play focuses on an abusive husband in the 1880s who convinces his wife that she is going crazy.

Interesting method of accusing Trump of domestic violence. When did this author stop making false accusations? Inquiring minds want to know.

He turned the great brown hope of the GOP into George Lopez tossing out one-liners while destroying his presidential hopes

Marco Rubio ran on a tea-party ticket and then cowed to Boehner. Also if Rubio can't take a few insults, what is he going to do when terrorists insult him?

He made Jeb Bush, the scion of a great conservative family, look small.

Jeb Bush was running on a platform of "It's my turn. If criticized, my mother will support me."

He took the mighty Chris Christie who can tame angry New Jersey protesters and made him a teddy bear sidekick.

If Christie can do that and Trump can over power him, what will happen to ISIS?

In Hamilton’s play, there is a detective called Detective Rough. He takes a dim view of the abusive husband’s explanations. He thinks the poor woman is being taken for a ride. And he works diligently to find out exactly how. He tries to figure out what the abuser has to gain. And he finds something.

I think America is being taken for a ride by people who should not be in office. Donald Trump is exposing how. The Republican party keeps running weak candidates who can't take a couple of punches. The Democrats have been able to walk all over the Republicans, but if they receive a couple counter punches, they go away too.

This moment occurs every time Trump is interviewed. At a certain point the anchor gives up. So what if he’s lying and we know it. We have to get along here. And maybe I’ll look like I’m a bully, like that Megyn Kelly, if I press it too hard.

If journalists were willing to run half honest investigations, I'd have more sympathy.

In the play, Detective Rough eventually discovers that there are illicit riches in the couple’s attic.

Like how there are riches to be made in America by exporting jobs, importing people to take the jobs that are here, and exploit high school students by telling them that college will give them a leg up in life and then charge lots of money for the privilege of going to college.

I agree with many of your comments. I still can’t get my arms around the author’s statement that the Bush family is Conservative.

Yes, journalists seem to be more about their own stature, and not that of the story. It’s as if they all want to do a selfie, and be the “star” instead of a journalist.

America is being taken for a ride, as you write. Trump exposes much of what is wrong. But, I’m just not sure he is the one to right the ship. I’m not sold on any candidate. I think we (as a country) should be able to do better than what is offered. I look at strong personalities in law enforcement and/or the military, and believe that we need a strong, leader that knows his/her limitations. The President will most likely be hamstrung by Congress until there is a massive purge.

Thanks for your reasoned response.
