Everything has just turned upside down. I have never felt that anyone else was ever responsible for my happiness and I also know that I cannot and should not rely on anyone else for my safety. If all these snowflakes and whiney women would spend half as much energy taking responsibility for and solving their own problems the world would be a far better place. As my mom used to say - Mind and take care of your own business and do not worry about the affairs of others.
Dennis Prager has talked about this on his Prager U Youtube sessions, that conservatives are in general happier because they focus on their lives and what they can do. If you can’t be happy until society is perfect, and society will never be perfect much less perfect by liberal standards, you can thus never be happy.
