Certainly don't blame you! Lol. I've heard this. It just makes no sense. I personally wish it did, because, although a Trump supporter, I do like Cruz. I would love to see the lawsuits fly on this, and prove the Enquirer wrong about everything. But that's not happening thus far, and it's extremely disheartening.

Any such lawsuit would be for libel. Since Cruz is a public figure, he cannot base a claim for relief on the untruthfulness of the allegations. He would have to prove in a court of law that the NE writer(s) acted with malice and did so with knowledge that the allegations were false. That’s a very high bar. It’s hard to prove malice ... as opposed to the very nature of NE in seeking publicity/attention.
