If Cruz came out and directly denied any infidelity, Trumpbots would just say “...anyone who would cheat on his wife would lie about it...”, so NOTHING he says will satisfy the Trump Inquisition.
Exactly. Those who were ready to believe without proof aren’t going to be swayed...
Am I making a judgment on whether it’s true or not?
No. No I am not.
(Which I must say could well be compared to the Trump-haters on this board who were claiming that Trump saying that he’s against socialized medicine means that he’s for socialized medicine, among many other things. But I digress.)
All I’m doing is offering conjecture at the moment.
This will either be confirmed or fall by the wayside within a few weeks. And we’ll see what happens.
So far I find Cruz’s response to be totally bizarre, but that’s not evidence and so I will keep my peace on whether or not it’s ACTUALLY true until evidence comes out. Or doesn’t, as the case may be.
If he came out and said he had never cheated, I would believe him until proven otherwise. But, that is me.
Are you freaking kidding? I can say, "Yes, I've always been faithful to my wife"; hopefully you can too (yes, I realize you're 'Auntie', so "always faithful to my husband", whatever...); and would be willing to wager more than 90% of FReepers can say that very line, including Cruz supporters. Would have worked for me. Ted never said it - 8 short words: "Yes, I've always been faithful to my wife"
'Senator Cruz,' DailyMail.com asked him, 'can you please swat down more definitively this National Enquirer piece by telling us on the record that you've never been unfaithful to your wife?'DailyMail.com directed the question a second time at Cruz when Fiorina had finished. 'Senator I'm sorry, this is a very serious question about your character,' the second question came. 'Will you just if the answer is, "Yes, I've always been faithful to my wife," can you just say so please?'
