You are not the first one to have posted this assertion as if it is a God-given fact. Yet neither you nor anyone else has ever posted a single shred of evidence of the veracity of the statement.

As another poster noted, Donald Trump has the ability and the right to find out from GQ exactly who, if anyone at all, bought rights to that photograph. The fact that he has NOT done so is persuasive evidence to me that there isn't any pot of gold at the end of this particular arch of crap.

Actually GQ confirmed (and by the way it was GQ out of the UK who did the photo shoot) that Donald Trump INCORRECTLY blamed Ted Cruz as being the source of the attack. They did not comment on how the picture was obtained, however, given the amount of such photos on the web my guess is it has lost its copyright protection.
