Donald J. Trump, girding for a long battle over presidential delegates and a potential floor fight at the Cleveland convention, has enlisted the veteran Republican strategist Paul J. Manafort to lead his delegate-corralling efforts, according to people briefed on Mr. Trump’s plans.
Mr. Trump confirmed the hire in a brief telephone interview. “Yes,” he said, “it is true.”
Mr. Manafort, 66, is among the few political hands in either party with direct experience managing nomination fights: As a young Republican operative, he helped manage the 1976 convention floor for Gerald Ford in his showdown with Ronald Reagan, the last time Republicans entered a convention with no candidate having clinched the nomination.
He performed a similar function for Mr. Reagan in 1980, and played leading roles in the 1988 and 1996 conventions, for George H. W. Bush and Bob Dole.
Mr. Manafort has drawn attention in recent years chiefly for his work as an international political consultant, most notably as a senior adviser to former President Viktor F. Yanukovych of Ukraine, who was driven from power in 2014.
The hire is a sign that Mr. Trump is intensifying his focus on delegate wrangling as his opponents mount a tenacious effort to deny him the 1,237 delegates he would need to secure the Republican nomination. Under those circumstances, Mr. Trump’s opponents hope they can wrest that prize away from him in a contested convention....

While I don’t think this is actual evidence of Trump selling out...its as solid of evidence logic wise as Cruz selling out because some GOPe are getting behind him after they lost out.
I have a yuge Trump fan in my office..lazy big mouth who has never paid attention to politics, political movements or ideology stripes.
All he knows is “Trumps telling them what for.”

He knows he’d better do something besides tweet.
He just tweeted out that there’s no way Walker will endorse him because he beat up Walker so bad. Way to pre-empt the fact that Walker is set to endorse Ted Cruz tomorrow.

Hah! It’s doing him a little good. He infuriated Trump by getting more delegates in Louisiana.
And now Scott Walker is set to endorse Cruz tomorrow.

LA is a tempest in a tea pot. Mitt Walker was always going to endorse Cruz. I don’t know how much good it will do since half the state hates Walker.
At least Ted Cruz fought for right in DC.

I think Trump wants to be elected president but I don’t think he wants to BE president.

Donald Trump, using his own short fingers, tweeted out a picture of Heidi (which was a carefully selected unflattering screen shot) next to a studio pose of the lovely Melania, fully clothed this time in a suprememly childish display of ‘my wife is prettier than your wife.’
He can’t deny it. You can’t deny it. But you will.
Trump doesn’t seem to happy about it, but have your own way.
Well yeh! Why would he be happy? Its a few delegates but I guess Trump feels like he has to fight it. Its not a big deal numbers wise.
