Cruz supporters, from Rush Limbaugh (undeclared) to Kellyanne Conway, explain this as proof of how "True Conservative" Cruz has co-opted GOPe. I don't think so.
If that were so, why, as the Texas Tribune reported, did Ted Cruz make that first phone call to Charles Foster, a Houston immigration super-lawyer, to get the Bush, Inc. ball rolling? Foster is an active advocate of mass immigration. His law firm motto is "Fostering Global Immigration Solutions." He actually supports Obama's executive amnesty.
The New World Order boys only have to win one more time and it’ll be over.
Says it all doesn’t it. My guess is that Limbaugh & Levin are going to either, go into hiding, or are at some point in the near future, spin it to show how they were duped by Cruz just as they were duped by Rubio, which of course directly reflects on their inability to discern a person’s true character and thus, it makes them irrelevant when it comes to constitutional conservatism.
Of course it’s clear.
But the Cruz cult here on FR just BELIEEEEEEVES so hard that they can’t imagine that St. Ted could possible betray them.
...while he’s right in the middle of doing so.
This is the big reason the ‘Bang of Eight’ story has gotten so much press here on FR. Because if true, it’s almost completely unspinnable evidence that Cruz is not who he claims.
Anyone with half a brain that can read the bio of Cruz’s career after graduating from law school, can easily see that Cruz is an establishment plant since he & his wife was groomed by the Bush establishment. I mean really? It’s Clinton 2.0, even Heidi admitted that “they” were running for president!!!
If there really is a Cruz camp on Free Republic, it would seem to be nearly deserted
Thanks for posting from Diana West’s site. She’s got a great insight on the lowdown dirty Ted and his wife. Here’s the link to the video referred to in the body of the article.

Our resident Cruzbots are so dazzled by their faith they refuse to see the evidence that’s in plain sight.
Yet they call us Trump supporters stupid.
At the bottom of the article are a couple of hypertext links to videos. (If limited on time, watch the Ted Cruz one and skip the Limbaugh one).
Ted Cruz has famously called CFR a “nest of vipers,” but does he agree with his Goldman Sachs wife about this report, about any of its recommendations? Might we expect Heidi Cruz to take a job in a Ted Cruz administration? Hillary Clinton oversaw heathcare. Would Heidi Cruz oversee North American integration?
Have such questions been asked? Would Ted deflect them as attacks on his wife?
It was Derrick Broze who asked Ted Cruz about his “family connection” to the Council on Foreign Relations in January 2012. Broze’s video is fascinating to watch as Ted answers the question as an attack on his wife.

Bonus: here is one more entry in the Cruz-CFR genre, a bizarre Rush Limbaugh clip (one of many by now in which he plays defense for Cruz). In it, Rush hah-hah-hah-belittles a caller who has brought up three valid points indicating Cruz is in fact an establishment-rooted candidate.

Clearly, more and bigger beans need to be spilled.
[quoting Heidi Cruz ...] I support the Task Force report and its recommendations aimed at building a safer and more prosperous North America. Economic prosperity and a world safe from terrorism and other security threats are no doubt inextricably linked. While governments play an invaluable role in both regards, we must emphasize the imperative that economic investment be led and perpetuated by the private sector. There is no force proven like the market for aligning incentives, sourcing capital, and producing results like financial markets and profit-making businesses. This is simply necessary to sustain a higher living standard for the poorest among ustruly the measure of our success. As such, investment funds and financing mechanisms should be deemed attractive instruments by those committing the capital and should only be developed in conjunction with market participants. Heidi S. Cruz
Cruz is the classic example of a projectionist... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection
That’s one of his many “problems”. In a recent article it said things about him that made me think that he is self-serving and deliberate in achieving that goal in the video of him as a youngster stating he would be dictator of the world.
And with a lawyer background, he knows how to make it sound like it is a sound logical presentation of the issue.
Read this article. You can skip comments if they are against your belief system
Oh My! Cruz is raising money for the campaign. I hope you realize that if Trump gets the nomination, he won’t be able to finance the enormous cost and will have to do the same.
Almost deserted of people...
But very, VERY loud people.
Money over Holy Week with family and that is suppose to be positive. How?
BTW Trump raised $6 million over night for veterans. Money will be no problem
He Spends his money frugally ( Mc D and Wendy’s) and doesn’t dine on OPM
I think we’re just about there.
Just a thought :
The HO Lollypop, in her tease for a $$ for complete story ,said Cruz was referred to her by a lawyer. Maybe the phone call was not political but more on a personal nature??? Regardless she has left Texas and is in hiding because of the threatening phone calls
