I did some research on the China, went through the hotel room service pics on trip advisor for all sorts of hotels in DC. All plates were white... But maybe cheese plates are patterned? Or? Could it be in his house?

As I mentioned at some point last night, it sure doesn't look like anything you'd find at Motel 6.
