I don’t think the GOPe is smart enough to create such a convoluted scam. On some days i tend to agree with you. It's probably more likely that Cruz was compromised much later than Oct '13, 2013.
On other days, I'm convinced he was born with devil horns. ;-)

Exactly the point it is GOPe plan, they just screwed up the implementation. Supposed to wait TILL AFTER Cruz was done interfering with Trump in the remaining primaries . Then lower the boom
