How about a sales tax so that the IRS has no reason to target individuals?

A1, S8 does not give Congress the authority to tax consumer goods. That authority resides with the states & the municipalities within the states. If you want to rid yourself of tyranny, learn what an “excise” tax is and what it applies to and then apply it to your earnings because that is what the income tax is, an “A1,S8 excise” tax that is limited in its scope. It does not apply to all that comes in unless all that comes in is connected to federal activity in the form of contracts, investments, employment, elected office, rent of federal land, etc, etc.

I like that idea. Federal sales tax from everyone in any state and do away with all the rest of taxes.

Our son is getting married in September. At this Hotel where it is at, there are all kinds of taxes. Tourist tax, hotel tax, handling tax, state sales tax. The taxes all total to 16% of your bill for the room, wedding, food, etc.
