But! How will it respond to major storms? The Navy doesn't have majors, they have lieutenant commanders. ;)

Not only the inverted bow but also the tumblehome hull design seems to be making a comeback. But this time it is to reflect radar beams rather than incoming ordnance.

It is called a destroyer because it can’t carry enough weapons to be called a cruiser. (Actually displaces more than the early battleships. Which is a good thing: Every destroyer actually hit by even one weapon since WWII has lost power, propulsion, control, radars and radio, or all four every time! )

See the boat equal with the Royal Caribbean logo on the side of the ship?
That's the Zumwalt

Sonar and torpedoes don’t care about those ugly angles that fool rf.

Not only the inverted bow but also the tumblehome hull design seems to be making a comeback.A traditional bow and flared topsides are there for a reason.
They provide reserve bouyancy in a seaway.
A ship with an inverted bow and tumblehome can actually lose bouyancy as she lists or plows into heavy seas.
Tumblehome works okay on some canoes and sailboats.
Not so well on oceangoing ships with heavy top hamper and lots of windage.
That thing looks like a it is sporting a giant billboard.

"I guess there are those who might think its a beautiful ship." Agreed. If it weren't for the wakes, you couldn't tell if it was coming or going...

I like that squinty little slit of windows. Reminds me of the eye slit in a medieval armor helmet.

If it wasn’t designed to minimize its radar signature, I wonder why it’s shaped like it should?
