Nursing is another issue we have. DD is allergic to formula (the Dr made us try it because she wasn’t gaining as much weight as they wanted) she lost weight on the formula. So of course I am nursing, but MIL keeps pushing solid food and juice and I am surprised at how many others are surprised I am still nursing. I plan on nursing until she self weans (or like you said starts naming my boobs).
DH does tell his parents to back off but that doesn’t stop them from their refrain. I had health/feeding issues and so I was held all the time by either my mother or my grandmother. My mom couldn’t handle me crying so they didn’t do cry it out either.
At 9 months, avacados are the perfect first food. Low allergy issues + high in fat = mommy’s best friend. It freezes well after puréed.
You need to tell them to shut up or you will not see them. You must give them a choice—an ultimatum. Their behavior is abusive.
Best wishes for your family! I spent many a night on FR with an all-night baby over the last twelve years. So much better than when there was nothing but infomercials on tv!
now, of my three, the one I breast fed the longest has aspergers and the one I breast feed the shortest time is probably the most well adjusted...go figure..( and her first words were cookie, chip, and cake, I swear...lol)
