Think you miss the point of why now. I assume you think he’s always been a dirt bag. Unless you’re one of the BS artists with the “I supported Ted until...” lie.

Yeah, those must be part of the 300,000 Twitter followers who dropped Ted Cruz overnight after the shameful speech he made in the aftermath of the Donald Trump rally that was disrupted by organized Left wing thugs.

That night, Ted Cruz made a weak statement which showed no leadership or statesmanship, and had the totally wrong emphasis, and then proceeded to attack Donald Trump as if the thug violence was Trump's fault.

As a direct result, Ted Cruz lost several voters on this very forum who had previous been public about their support of him.

I first noticed signs of trouble with Ted Cruz when he shamelessly played the race card against Donald Trump during the David Duke kerfluffle. There's nothing lower. Cruz knew full well what was going on, and that Donald Trump is not a racist, but that didn't stop him from trying to make political hay out of it.

It was a fundamentally dishonest tactic by Cruz, at which point I realized that all was not as it seemed with Ted Cruz.

After that, the statement he made after the violence which cancelled the Trump rally removed all doubt. Ted Cruz stood exposed as a naked opportunist.

I have no idea what the truth might be behind this National Enquirer story, except for the observation that it doesn't appear to have originated with Trump, contrary to the hysterical accusations of Ted Cruz supporters, and, indeed, the story has been bubbling beneath the surface for several weeks, having been apparently alluded to originally by elements of the Rubio camp.

With respect to the alleged Ted Cruz affairs, it is the case that the National Enquirer has been right about these sorts of stories several times in the past, but I hope that it's not accurate in this instance.

Such dalliances would tend to be much more damaging, of course, against someone who portrays themselves as a devoutly religious person, than against someone who openly admits such things.

Trump has jumped the shark. There is zero chance he will be the President.
