Why didn’t you mention me in your opus?
I think you meant "tacit", but no, it isn't.
As I have asked on other threads, how much disavowing would be enough?
Apparently, 'That isn't one of ours', isn't enough disavowing. [disavow: to disclaim knowledge of, connection with, or responsibility for; disown...]
No, instead,
What we have here is an apparent "failure to repudiate" in a timely fashion.
But that raises another question:
What would be considered "timely"?
If he had repudiated the ad immediately, then Trump supporters would say that is a sure sign he knew about it and was just itching to distance himself from it.
If he takes his time about it, other than disavowing the ad (saying it wasn't one of his), then he is excoriated for taking too long.
In the interest of fair campaigning, then, how about someone establish a specific time frame to disavow and repudiate other people's stuff that reflects badly on your campaign?
What would you consider appropriate? One hour? (or would that be too soon?) Six hours? Over night? 24 hours (time to find out what in the heck was going on and where that came from)?
I mean, does any specific time interval satisfy?
No, in the case of those eager to pounce, I think not.
Anyone who read the line at the bottom of the ad: "Paid for by Make America Awesome. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate committee" would know there could be no legal connection (or otherwise) to the Cruz campaign.
Or maybe some people just got distracted and didn't see that part?
Why would risk even a longshot at the nomination over an election law violation? or an ad that had tremendous downside potential for Cruz, and very little (if any) upside potential.
He was polling well in Utah and had tremendous support already.
not sure about the ties, but the suits were made in Mexico...
Facts only irritate them!!!
Heritage gives sessions an 82% rating. Cruz and Lee are at 100%.
I have no idea what an opus is, or who added it to my post title.
“Its only like that during the day. At night when the Trump supporters get home from work the Cruz folks get it handed to them.”
As many are prone to say -— THATS RACIST !!! /s and LOL !
How is it that people have no idea what an Opus is that have been here for more than a decade?
Nevermind. I see your posting frequency. You barely participate in FR at all! That’s why you would not know the following terms:
Opus
Stuned Beeber
Laz Would Hit It
humblegunner hatez blogz
I’d still take Sessions.....
“Isn’t that where Donnie goes when he needs his ties made?”
Donald Trump is a founding member of the Red Chinese Manufacturers Association, according to a possible, future story that may appear in the National Enquirer.
I do not know if the story is true or not. The National Enquirer was right about O.J. and John Edwards.
Which is tactic approval.Actually it is that too, most certainly.I think you meant "tacit", but no, it isn't.
Should be clear from my comment "tactic approval" meaning it was a tactic to make it seem true by being silent for so long without disavowing the tactic by the pro-Cruz S-PAC.
'That isn't one of ours' isn't disavowing.
It's like saying we didn't do it but how cool.
Anyone that knows just a bit about politics knows that PACs cannot coordinate with candidates.
The rest of your questions etc are just obsessive C and don't deserve comment.
Rabbit trails, distractions.
I visit everday, but post, eh not so much. I’m done watching the un-civil war here. But haven’t seen many alternate sites mentioned.
Here, have some humor at Cruz's expense.
The astonishing thing to me is that politicians like Sanders and Obama can openly praise socialism and communism and bash capitalism. Obama would be a perfect communist dick-tater. I’ve said that from the beginning. Most President’s care about all Americans, Obama has attacked ordinary Americans opposed to him from the beginning. He enjoys the drone killings a little too much. I’m sure he would like the chance to do that to his political enemies here. The liberals in the education system have made sure that they graduate clueless kids who know nothing about the horrors of communism.
That is funny.
The only ones who can change a thread title are the mods and the admins.
You don’t have to call me Darlin’, Darlin’!!!
(I call everybody Darlin’.)
People were left scratching their heads in July when Keep the Promise 1, one of a conglomerate of super PACs funded by deep-pocketed Cruz supporters (the others are cleverly named Keep the Promise PAC, Keep the Promise II and Keep the Promise III; dont strain yourself, guys), revealed in its financial disclosures a $500,000 donation to Fiorinas campaign.
Keep the Promise 1 had a healthy $10 million on hand from a $11 million donation from hedge fund CEO Robert Mercer as of the end of June. But it only spent $536,169. A little for legal services. A little for surveys. And a whole lot for Fiorina.
Even the Federal Election Commission is perplexed. The super PAC was (purposely?) vague about the donation, describing it on its FEC filing as other disbursement.
So, the FEC, as it does, sent a letter Wednesday asking for a brief statement or description of why each disbursement was made.
Something like: Well, just in case
The donation to Fiorina was made June 18, which shows tremendous foresight. Fiorina was barely registering then, not yet revealed as the scrappy underdog with killer debate skills. And Donald Trump had yet to steal most of Cruzs disenchanted voters.
The super PACs treasurer Jacquelyn James did not respond to our request for comment. Maybe the FEC will have better luck.
