People have asked why that PAC would give money to Fiorina. I think the answer is because at the time she was making attacks on Trump. It is an anti-Trump PAC, and it will support anti-Trump people.
But that is not to say it is pro-Cruz. That may be the effect, but it is not necessarily the case.
I think this PAC has done incalculable damage to CRUZ, since they had to know that everyone would blame Cruz for it without waiting for the evidence.
If anything, CRUZ would likely have killed the ad if ever given the chance.
I think a better case is made that an inference could not be made in light of the damage to Cruz.
After all, who knows?
Not if the strategy was to provoke Trump try to get an overreaction. Needling and trying to irritate Trump has been a frequently used Cruz tactic.
