I agree. This primary season is a disaster for Republicans. Trump had a chance to win it all . . . but failed to do his homework. His policy ignorance is enormous. It’s all sound bytes, bluster, and word salad. For a so-called principled conservative, Cruz is a sleazy political opportunist and generally unlikable. And the GOPe has completely lost the base of the party. It’s awful in every respect.

Cruz is not an opportunist in any way, shape or form. He stuck to his principles, even opposing ethanol in Iowa before he had proven any viability in the primary. The very definition of the word opportunist is you don't have consistent principles, which does NOT describe Cruz AT ALL. As far his likability, I don't just like, I love a principled, articulated conservative like Cruz. op·por·tun·ist ˌäpərˈt(y)o͞onəst/ noun noun: opportunist; plural noun: opportunists 1. a person who exploits circumstances to gain immediate advantage rather than being guided by consistent principles or plans.
