The longer Trump is quiet, the more antsy I get.

I think he's about to go nuclear.

Ted Cruz must be wondering what's going on.

I completely disagree. When Japan bombed Pearl, they knew exactly what the the response was going to be. What they didn't know was whether or not they could defeat the US in the south Pacific. So it was a risk they were willing to take in order to force the hand.

When the Cruz PAC started this fight, they knew exactly how Donald would reply. In fact, they expected it because it's critical in being able to form the image they want that DT is an emotionally unstable bully.

The challenge for Trump is that hge needs to maintain his image of never backing down, but he must **also** score a hit on the GOPe who are now backing Ted. Ted himself as a "candidate" is no longer the primary threat - this battle is actually with Bush, Romney, Ryan, et al.

So if you're on Trump's team, how to respond? Well, obviously you need to diminish Ted as just a two-bit cheap actor hired to play a ridiculous part. Trump has always been about attacking the status quo - that's his bread & butter appeal.

I'd be mighty surprised if Trump doesn't elevate this beyond the petty personal, but rather incorporates the true intent & purpose of the GOPe. If he fails in doing that, then supporters like myself are going to be sorely disappointed that he really isn't that bright.
