I don’t remember them saying Carter would win.

The day before the election they were saying the race was too close to call.

Of course they were still way off as Reagan won in a landslide.

Carter was way ahead until the last week and then they had to make the polls more realistic because the election was fast approaching

They tried for months to influence the election
