The “be nice to Muslims and they will be nice to you” (bombing the Serbs, letting refugees into Europe) reminds of a scene near the end of “Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome”:
Dr. Kelly basically betrayed the military thinking she could make peace with the Cylons, but the military left her behind, then the Cylons came.
Cylon Prototype: (to Dr. Kelly) Do you think because you’re more enlightened than the rest of your species we hate you any less?

The Dr. Kelly character perfectly embodied that stupid, pathetic European mindset.
