It’s not just the “establishment” that dislikes Trump. Lots of rank and file GOP voters do too.

Yes. So many rank and file GOP voters hate Trump so much that he has received MORE votes than any other GOP candidate.
You got that right as reaganaut1 has definitely turned into one of the biggest trolls on FR.
Arizona was a closed primary and Trump took 47%. A 20% advantage over Ted.
Yep, completely “highjacked by the Democrats.” Not!
The Trump interest is so under-estimated its crazy. We’re going to see the weirdest election in history. Make America Great Again is what people want - on both sides of the political spectrum. I predict a historic landslide election of 61+% Trump.
Trump wrote the book on “buying preferential treatment.”
Personally, I’m sticking with Cruz.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
“Personally, Im sticking with Cruz.”
I feel sorry for you. He’s not going to get the nomination, but he could well prevent Trump from getting it, and usher in the Clinton II presidency. But what they hell, your “principles” will be left “intact” so life’s good even as the country goes away!
Why yes Lou, arrogant trust fund babies who use their inherited wealth to buy poltical favors are leeches.
And the Republican party.
I have plenty of reservations about Donald Trump. I have mentioned it on this board numerous times.
But, one thing I do admire about ‘The Donald’ is his willingness to speak candidly without concern for PC opinions. Yesterdays Brussels terrorist bombings have totally reshuffled the deck concerning Donald Trump.
If people are not aware of the new respect Donald gets from rank and file voters now with his statements about Muslims and how to gain the terrorists’ respect, then they never will comprehend it.
I can tell you why. It is because Trump attacked Walker using the liberal talking points on the budget in Wisconsin. Every conservative knew the attack was false, and that it came from a left-wing source.
It was our first peek under the curtain to see that Trump's worldview comes from liberal sources. Since then, we have been watching, and seeing that Trump's first reaction is always from the left. It is only later, when his handlers get ahold of him that he drifts towards the right.
Examples? KKK. Of course conservatives support the KKK, don't they. That's what liberals believe about conservatives.
Or the first words out of his mouth being "Bush lied" before backing that up to "I don't know if he lied or not." Who is it that says "Bush lied?"
His brain is wired that way. He has been surrounded by liberal sources. The first words out of his mouth are quotes of liberal talking points.
So while we were surprised when he spouted liberal talking points about Walker, we have since seen that it is his life model - to think liberal. It doesn't matter to him that these talking points were so bad that even most liberals said they were not true. That didn't stop Trump.
And that is why we dislike Trump.
The real Republican party.
as I have said before,Walker was my first pick.
Most electable.
How many votes out of the solid south do you see Cruz getting?
In the so-called “open primaries,” Trump scrapes out wins occasionally but never more than 50%.
When did you post this?
Are you aware Arizona is a closed primary state?
OH yeah; we need an experienced polititian.
One that can make ‘gov’ment work for us!
As opposed to a successful businessman.
Question?
Who did the founders want to be elected??
Remember old’ 2term George W ?
Trump is crude, rude, vulgar and an embarrassment tothe Republican Party. Besides, Hillary won’t be on my ballot. I can support whomever I like in the Primary.
Get a clue.
“Get a clue.”
You need to look in the mirror for that!
Trump takes the worst beating of any candidate in a head to head against Hillary. Furthermore — his candidacy at the top of the ticket may well lose us the Senate and/or the House. 65% of Republicans don’t trust him and don’t like him. That’s your clue.
“Trump takes the worst beating of any candidate in a head to head against Hillary. Furthermore his candidacy at the top of the ticket may well lose us the Senate and/or the House. 65% of Republicans dont trust him and dont like him. Thats your clue.”
Well, you’d better start talking Trump up, because he’s going to be the nominee!
AFTR, I will preface this comment by stating I’ve admired and respected your opinion over the years. A true conservative voice in the wilderness.
The embarrassment of the Republican party is the continual disregard for their supporters. Time and again, they say what we want to hear, then do the diametric opposite. I am more than willing to vote in the rude & crude to effect real change. I’ve been lied to enough!
Furthermore, if a poll by the eminently progressive Marquette University says one thing I’m willing to bet the house on the opposite being the real truth.
You know the insider who claims he is really is an outsider. The one who votes for them on the little issues and sells them out on the big ones. The one who has his super pacs attack his opponents family members and then claims he has nothing to do with it.
If they voted for Trump, they are afraid the game will end and there would actually be a difference between Republicans and Democrats.
