Actually one has to feel some pity for most of the family. Those appallingly awkward, staged videos of the family were beyond creepy. Heidi seems brittle, about to shatter into a million pieces, and except for Felito and Raphael Eduardo, all of the others seem like anxious captives, desperate to please and not sure how. Only Felito and Raphael Eduardo seem relaxed, in their reptilian ways.
I do pity the children. I haven’t decided yet on Heidi, I guess because I feel like a mother’s first job is to protect her children at all costs. Whether it is fear or ambition, she is not doing that.
