I complained about this in the 90s. We need to use this situation to recast the NATO mission and have the EU pay up.
Getting rid of NATO is the wrong message during the attacks.
Where did Trump say to get rid of NATO? He wants them to pay their fair share. Would NATO continue to exist if the US got out? The UK and France have nuclear weapons. The EU is equal to the US economy in terms of total GDP. These are wealthy nations.
