“The purpose of the 2nd amendment is so people can have defensive weapons to defend themselves against bad guys AND defend themselves against the government.”

It’s being conveniently forgotten that Trump supported the same “assault weapons” ban that Kasich voted for and has since supported that ban and with endorsements and money has continued to support those who would ignore the Second Amendment and ban firearms. The “deal maker” will make deals and negotiate with those who want to ban firearms and those who want to have amnesty and open borders. “deal making” will start in a strong position and “compromise”, how far will Trump, the democrat go with his compromises with his fellow democrats. Trump has made known he wanted to run for President in the past and stated that if he ran he’d run as a Republican because they’re stupid. He’s an opportunist and the GOP-e merging into the uniparty, declaring war on their Conservative base, not doing what they say, have infuriated their base and given Trump his opportunity. Apparently there are many gullible people that believe what he says but not what he is. We’ll find out when the “deal making” and the compromising that goes with it begins.

Big deal. You use liberal talking points for Cruz saying hunting is a second amendment issue. Can you be more stupid?

People in the west did fine with lands under federal control for a century or so when they were run according to their original purpose, as multi-use land for the public to access for timber, ranching, minerals, and recreation including hunting. The problem has come in the last few decades as the organizations that run them have been taken over by eco-Nazis who want to shut them off from their original intent, and Clinton and Obama started designating public lands as “monuments” to close them off. If the federal agencies would get back to the original mission of making lands available for public use I don’t think it would be an issue.

The second amendment isn’t about hunting, but hunting is a related issue. There are millions of Americans whose main reason owning firearms is because they hunt. The same lefties who want to take away guns cooperate with the anti hunting groups. If they can end hunting then they figure there will be fewer gun owners, and it will make it easier to get rid of guns.
