Thanks for the link! Had not seen it before and has some good points. No one wants to see the problem Trump has with God.
His conclusion was:
“Anyone can be saved, including Trump, but he has to accept the gift of salvation through repentance. Trumps past multiple divorces or recent mispronunciation of 2 Corinthians isnt what most concerns me, it is his denial of the central teachings of Christianity, while claiming to be a Christian. A Christian that does not ask God for forgiveness is not a Christian. God does not save people who think that they dont need saving.
I pray that Trump comes to an understanding of the Christian faith both for his sake and the countries. One day, I hope he can understand that lives can be transformed by Christ in a moment. And with that, apologize for his nasty remarks about Carson and the work of Christ.
Some may argue that because Trump is running for President, and not pastor, that all of this doesnt matter. I disagree for two reasons. First it shows a hypocrisy where he claims to be a Christian yet denies the power of Christ to change people. Second, it shows a disrespect for the Christian faith a faith held by over 200 million Americans.
Now I dont require that the President believe just as I do, but I expect them to not treat my faith with dismissive mocking. Trumps denying of the power of Christ is a slap in the face to all Christians whose lives have been transformed. I want a President who wont deride my Christian faith.”
