They would get less votes then Anderson did when he ran a 3rd Party against Reagan.
Anderson actually got 5.79 million votes. Reagan beat Carter by 8.42 million votes anyway.
Of course, in March 1980, they were saying that Reagan had to be stopped, he was the only Republican certain to lose to Carter, he had high negatives, etc, etc.
