Longmeadow is a very wealthy suburb of Springfield, which is a complete craphole with shootings/killings weekly.
Sounds like, instead of fooling around with gestural-political gun bans (they're asking for it if they do that; every armed criminal for 100 miles will be planning to drop in), they need to give their police a raise and hire more of them, and train them all well.
It wouldn't hurt, either, if they went the other way and passed a carry law for the good guys.
Some lefties in my town tried to sneak this crap through the board of selectmen several years ago. So may angry gun owners showed up at the hearing you could hear the selectmen sharting their pants. The line of attendees went down the hall and out the door. The idea was quietly killed, never to be heard again. Voter participation is everything.
