Blacklisted: Drudge, Coulter, Hannity, Carson, Breitbart, O’Reilly, Christie Make GOP Smart Set’s List of ‘Ideological Hustlers’

Conservative movement professionals in Washington, D.C. are plotting to form a “blacklist” of Donald Trump supporters that they can kick out of the movement, never to return.

Several conservative talking heads and Beltway consultant types have been very angry about the rise of businessman Trump, who is pushing for American sovereignty, a reversal of neoconservative foreign policy, and competitive bidding for pharmaceuticals even though the drug companies that fund the Republican Party would take a financial hit.

So far, anti-Trump think pieces referencing William F. Buckley have been ineffective. Memes comparing Trump to Hitler haven’t worked. So these Republicans are getting more Nixon-y. They’re coming out with an Enemies List.

CNN contributor and former Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) spokeswoman Amanda Carpenter volunteered to take the lead in writing the list.

Has anyone compiled the definitive list of conservatives who should be blackballed for supporting Trump? I will if it doesn't exist.

— Amanda Carpenter (@amandacarpenter) March 16, 2016

But Carpenter, who once got called an “idiot” by Donald Trump, did not mention that she formerly defended Trump on numerous occasions. Luckily, savvy Twitter users pointed it out for her in the responses below her tweet.

Carpenter later explained the terms for inclusion on her “blacklist.”

My blacklist is limited to people who have formally endorsed Trump. Not those who simply explain the phenomenon. https://t.co/KrbutWYesO

— Amanda Carpenter (@amandacarpenter) March 17, 2016

Carpenter is not alone in calling for a blacklist. Red State contributing editor Ben Howe said that he has the resources to get a high-tech “blacklist” off the ground, as well as seed money from God knows who in the donor class.

Which part of "third party" did you not understand?

This part...

Notice: Not supporting our leading pro-America candidate emerging from the convention when our nation is facing the grave risk of another America-hating, constitution-hating, capitalism-hating, God-hating Marxist/fascist/socialist/communist following Obama will be considered tantamount to treason. ~ Jim Robinson

I am assuming that you are smart enough to realize that the only reason that the GOPe such as Mit are currently flocking to Cruz is to try and prevent Trump from getting enough delegates to avoid a brokered convention. If that happens there is almost no chance that these same people will make any effort to get Cruz the nomination. He is being used, he know it and I find his comments that he believes that he has serious chance to become the nominee to be disingenuous.

As far as the polls showing that Cruz would do better against Clinton... they defy common sense and there are other polls that show the opposite. At this point Cruz's role in the primary is the same as Kasich’s. He is a spoiler for the GOPe, just with more delegates. If he wants anything out of this other than a failed bid president... his best bet would be to start talking with Trump. ForN

I totally disagree. Conservatism is a very distinct and specific ideology. It has a core set of values.

On the other hand, populism is not an ideology. It’s just mob rule. I think rule by what the masses is very dangerous. In its purest form, populism will lead to nothing but anarchy.

So you can't tell the difference between 2016 and 2000/04 - truly the pride of Trump Nation.

You just can’t help acting ugly. Guess it’s in your nature.

I don’t vote for politicians who put the interests of illegal aliens ahead of Americans. Not a surprise it’s of little import to you.

Oh, I know what TIME it is, but I don't think you, Pelham, or a lot of other FR noise makers do, yet.

P.S. It's TIME to choose sides, & thus far you two seem to have more in common with...

Choose wisely ;-)

“I totally disagree. Conservatism is a very distinct and specific ideology. It has a core set of values.”

So the choice is between your vision, or that of Russell Kirk, the father of post WWII American conservatism.

Considering that I’ve been supporting Trump since last June I’d say that you couldn’t find your ass if it were on fire.

Sorry, I took your unwillingness support/vote for Bush vs. Gore/Kerry as a probably no vote on Trump, given your tone, I now stand corrected...

This election is too important to stand aside, and luckily for us your lack of support in 2000/2004 didn't end up giving us a president Gore and/or Kerry!

If you, Veracious Poet, are asserting that Jim Robinson is one of the “rabid, foaming at the mouth trump-pets”, then you are sorely mistaken.

Furthermore, I am quite confident that JR is *well* aware of those rabid trump-pets who A) give trump a bad name by their childish, unprovoked personal attacks and B) he certainly doesn’t need you, Veracious Poet, trying to defend those rabid trump-pets and their personal attacks.

My point is that those rabid trump-pets, and trump, are knowingly and willfully alienating folks with their behavior and if it continues, they should not be surprised if trump finds himself arriving at the convention to find it contested or brokered, at which point you will have handed the bastards in the GOPe the opportunity to manipulate the convention and stick us with kasich.

You may have misspoke — I don’t think they want to *avoid* a brokered convention, I believe the fully *desire* a brokered convention. And yes, that has been my point all along. Over and over and over and over. And I’ve been flamed for pointing it out. I have *never* asserted cruz could win it outright - quite the opposite, I have mentioned cruz and Kasich as spoilers more than a few times who’s only option at this point is to try and deny trump 1237 delegates. Yet the more rabid trump-pets can’t be bothered to read — they just start flaming when someone doesn’t lick trump’s boots with the same frantic vigor that they do.

“...Hillary Clinton has very little chance of being elected in November, even assuming that she somehow stays on the ballot...”

Clinton could be indicted and the vast majority of dems would *still* crawl over broken glass to cast their ballot for her. Trump and his supporters dismiss her at their peril. And I can darn well guarantee you that trump does not share your sentiment at *all* and is taking her candidacy *very* seriously.

My my. That almost sounds like it means something.

So do you regard Andrew Jackson’s Presidency as a low point? He was a populist despised by the elites.

Are you glad that Republicans William McKinley and Teddy Roosevelt ushered in the Progressive era over the populist William Jennings Bryan?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Your behavior is the type of behavior that alienates people on Free Republic.

You're just a gasbag who posts gas that means nothing in relation to the actual primary elections or the general election.

Yes, I was typing on my phone this afternoon and didn’t do a good job of proofreading my post. The GOPe wants a brokered convention and if possible will deny the nomination to both Trump and Cruz. I believe that Romney, and company are throwing their support to Cruz with the goal of keeping Trump under 1237 so they can justify a brokered convention.
