Ryan is clueless and not that smart. If you ever really looked at that supposed brilliant budget he put together several years ago that would balance the budget in 10 years it was unimpressive. He’s no economic wizard.

“Ryan is clueless and not that smart.”

If Ryan and McConnell were serious they would have:
1) Drafted and passed a replacement for O’Care and sent it to the President’s desk. Yes they passed a bill to repeal it but they still haven’t provided an alternative. They would have more credibility if they proposed a free market alternative.
2) Stop passing omnibus spending bills which allow Obama to threaten to veto the entire bill and then blame Congress for shutting down the government. Break spending authorizations up into hundreds of separate spending bills and send a few every week to the President for signature or veto. Have actual cuts in those bills. Force Obama to veto or sign them. When he vetos the Department of Interior bill because Congress has cut a few million out of the environmentalist lobby slush fund (also known as consulting budget) the Republicans should go on the attack telling the people it is sad Obama is closing down the national parks in order to protect subsidies to the Sierra Club. Same thing for the HUD budget and others. Instead they keep doing the same thing that hasn’t worked for 7 years - big omnibus bills that give Obama everything he wants.

Ryan is a fraud. He was touted as the brainy policy wonk. Then in the 2008 VP debate stupid old Joe Biden wiped the floor with him. Since then Ryan, like Boehner, McConnell, Grahmam, McCain, and most of the GOP members of Congress has been all talk.

Early in my business career an executive told me there are three kinds of managers. The first are the doers - they produce results. The second are the explainers - they talk about grand plans but don’t deliver and then always have excuses. The third are the incompetents - they produce nothing and have no excuses.

The GOPe is full of explainers.
