Back when I actually listened to Levin, I recall his being very strong for both Rubio and Cruz in their Senate bids. Then, of course, Rubio forgot about the people ‘who brung him.’ Cruz has remained, nominally, conservative. Personally I don’t find his behavior in this campaign at all consistent with being conservative, but that’s me.
I think Levin has become something of a jackass on the subject. And, as usual for him, treats those who disagree as ignoramuses and will not brook any disagreement. He can only shout people down; his strength is not in reasoning or persuading. Just his style. I stopped listening long ago and only occasionally catch bits when someone else turns that station on.
As to Limbaugh, I think he also buys into Ted’s being a ‘true, consistent conservative” whether born out by facts or not. His brother has written articles promoting Cruz. People who think THEY are the center of ‘conservatism’ tend to cling to Cruz regardless of how his behavior has changed over the past few months. They’re stuck somewhere in 2013-15.
Two questions for you:
1. How is Cruz NOT a conservative?
2. What demonstrates that Trump is a true conservative?
