Gov. John Kasichs campaign is plotting to snatch the Republican nomination at a contested convention in Cleveland in August.
Kasich campaign chief strategist John Weaver blasted out a strategy memo during Kasichs Ohio victory speech that made clear that Kasich will seek to win the nomination at a contested convention. No candidate will win 1237 delegates, Weaver said in the memo.
Ohio governor Kasich defeated Donald Trump in the Ohio primary Tuesday night, with Kasich grabbing 43.4 percent of the vote to Trumps 36.5 percent, with 28 percent of the precincts reporting.
This is all I got, Kasich said in his Ohio victory speech. We are going to go all the way to Cleveland and secure the Republican nomination.
But Donald Trumps campaign scoffed at Kasich.

Katich is not the only one who “ain’t right.” There is a whole class of elitists that is spouting irrational ideas.
Kasich’s nuts... but if power hungry crooks in the GOPe make it happen, most of us will leave the party.
And yeah, I know it’ll be rough... we’ll do a Trump write in and pray for the best.
Actually, the majority of the population doesn't get it.
The whole Primary campaign is a farce intended to make the unwashed masses accept whoever the party elite settle on. The money behind the Republican Party never had any intention putting a system in place that allows anyone they hadn't anointed before hand being able to make it as far as the convention much less win the nomination. One way or another, they intend to have anyone but Trump as the nominee.
What they care about is their continued dictatorial control over the process and over those who make it to the bigs in Congress. Millions of people lose their jobs, Hillary packs the USSC with clones of herself, Muzzies are killing people in the streets, none of that an nothing else you can think of is nearly as important to them as their remaining in control of one of the two power blocks in DC.
People chomping at the bit for Cruz especially don't get it. The only way Cruz has a prayer is for him to drop his little game face and let the world see that he's always been of, by, and for, the same things the party GOPe leadership is for. It was fine with the leadership when Ted was snagging air time by bashing fellow Republicans because, after all, how else could he get face time in the media ?
Now, though, Cruz has to openly kowtow or they'll go with Ksick or Ryan before they'll let Trump be the nominee just because he wins enough delegates in the primaries to be the nominee.
Fortunately, Trump is far from stupid and has no doubt got several contingency plans up his sleeve for any such attempted or successful convention scam run against him. We'll see.
And then lose to Hillary in a landslide. A lot of Trump and Cruz supporters will sit this one out. Is the GOPe that thick-headed?

Even though @realDonaldTrump won delegates in Texas the @TedCruz- @georgepbush #RickPerry cabal is refusing to slate Trump supporters
