Ted Cruz open to Rubio and Kasich in cabinet
CNN ^ | 3/15/16 | Tal Kopan

Sen. Ted Cruz said Monday he could see inviting presidential campaign opponents Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich into his cabinet in Washington -- and he also said he could see circumstances where he would not support front-runner Donald Trump as the nominee.

The conservative Texan has been repeatedly asked about whether he would support Trump if the mogul ends up winning the primary. Despite a the presence of the "Never Trump" movement within the Republican Party, candidates have been quick to say they will support the Republican nominee.

But speaking with reporters in Illinois on Monday, Cruz did say there was a scenario he wouldn't get behind Trump.

"I can give you one example where I would no longer support Donald Trump -- if, for example, he were to go out on Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, I would not be willing to support Donald Trump," Cruz said.

Sounded like an honest answer to me. I wouldn’t have any problem with Kasich or Rubio in a the cabinet, just not the presidency. Not sure why his answer was a big deal to ANYONE, unless it’s merely to make your ‘Eh, Eh, Cruz mistakes’ point.

Kasich could be postmaster general to follow in his father’s footsteps, and Roobs could be the White House press secretary far away from any policy work like immigration.

On Friday,Neil Bush came on CNN to attack Trump about the Chicago Set up .
Then Jeb Cruz came 15 minutes later and shot off the Neil Bushes talking points!
Jebbie had a strategy meeting with Cruz before the debate in Thursday.

Who is left that believes your lies!

Why is he trying so hard to throw away my vote?

I can't wait until Kasich and rubio fall down the memory hole.
Now I read how Cruz is going to keep them around.

And cruz STILL hangs out with beck.
I don't want that guy any where near the white house.

What is this ted...a friggin' stress test?

Most of these Cruz crazies posting here were outed as Jeb Cruz campaign employees .

When Neil Bush is your spokesman spouting off Trump hate on CNN and you deny the Bushies are in charge .

That is serial lying territory.

Isn't OPEN the same as what Trump told Carson to try to get his supporters and limited delegates?

If I criticize Trump, you avoid the criticisms with a BUT CRUZ! ..not just you, everyone single one on this forum.

There is absolutely nothing a Trump supporter will not defend from their candidate.

NOTHING!

What I hear day after day is a big FU, we don't want or need Ted Cruz or his supporters.

oy vey. I like Cruz’s love of the constitution, but whoever is running his campaign is very low information.

Yeah, that’s it. Create a veritable snake pit of sleazy, slimy politicians with now experience in anything g except in a court of law. None of those three pukes could change a light bulb, much less have a clue on how to eliminate fraud, abuse, cut costs, eliminate departments and agencies, develop an economic trade policy, or anything else to grow our economy through free market capitalism.

Not an issue. If he’s the nominee, Hillary has a really relaxing summer and fall.

I can see dating Scarlett Johannsen after I'm through with Kate Upton and Brooklyn Decker - and I need to plan those dates as much as Cruz needs to plan his cabinet.

“All three forced Trump to take the pledge to support the Republican nominee. Now that it looks like it’s going to be Trump, all three are hedging on the pledge they took.”

I guess Cruz is going back on his word. As long as Donnie shoots someone on Fifth Avenue, he’s not going to support him.

By golly, he should support Donnie whether he’s a murderer or not!

After all, wouldn’t all Trumpbots want Trump as president, even if he killed someone?

What was Ted thinking???

“Cruz recently stated he “WOULD SUPPORT TRUMP”, then he “would not support front-runner Donald Trump as the nominee”. That boy is definitely a flip flopper. Now do you still trust him? Not me.”

So I take it, if Trump shot and killed someone, you’d have no problem voting him for President?

Senator Cruz is not a sociopath, he is an opportunist just like every politician that runs for office.

...

He could have stuck to his principles, not done a deal with the GOPe devil, and angled for a VP slot. He’s young, so it could have worked out really well. It’s not going to happen now.
