Got you beat. I was at a recruitment calling peoples names so they could be interviewed. I came across the following name printed on the intake form; La-ia, which I pronounced Lah-eeah.
A quite offended young lady told me that I was mispronouncing her name. She informed me that the dash in the middle of the four other letters was pronounced, and that the correct pronunciation of her name is, Lah-dash-eeah.
