Good point, I never write Trump off, however this is more about inside baseball in the party of which Trump knows nothing about. He will be playing on their turf and with their rules. I have no doubt he can stare across the table into the eyes of these political party operators and have their lunch. But they hold the hammer, if there’s no 1237 they can go nuclear and leave him completely out in the cold through convention machinations. They could pick Bush and Kasich or Kasich and Rubio. To avoid such bitter pill and the potential anger and disenfrachizing of Trump’s voters the GOPe will stake a claim to the VP slot so they guarantee representation and can claim a victory for the party establishment.
