So while many Dems legitimately switched to Republican to vote for Trump, once both the Dem and Rinos saw what was happening in Ohio with early voting, they got the Dems (likely willing union people, etc) to vote for Kasich.
It is documented on their program. These same Dems voting for Kasich will NOT vote for any Republican in the general.
Whereas the cross over Blue Dog Democrats voting for Trump, will vote for him in the general. Even Michael Steele admitted live on his radio program that this is the dirty secret that the establishment will not say publicly. Which is that it is well known that Trump would likely beat Hillary in the general and the Establishment AND Dems know this. Which is why they are coordinating their efforts in the primaries with a hope of stopping Trump.
