I personally like Patton’s comments on war over Curtis Lemay’s:
“No poor bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making other bastards die for their country.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won’t.”
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.”
(In the movie) Patton to Omar Bradley:
“In about five minutes...we’re going to turn these boys...into fanatics! They’ll lose their fear of the Germans all right; I just hope to God they never lose their fear of me!”
No P.C. in that.
