Nope. Think those were two different occurrences. The first
one was where a snowmobile hit two dogsleds at different
times. Killed one good sled dog & injured others. - Mr.
Palin’s accident was evidently a different one with no sled
dogs around anywhere.

“Snow machine? In America they are commonly referred to as snowmobiles. Has the author even touched a snowmobile before? I will bet the author doesn’t even know what one looks like. This article looks like it was written for European consumption because it sounds foreign to me.

They call them “snow machines” up in Alaska and I think in general in the Great White North (Canada).

That (the drunk dude that hit two sled dog teams) was at the Iditarod. The Iditarod is a dog sled race. Todd Palin races snow machines (or snowmobiles) such as in the Iron Dog race.

Racing in either sport can be dangerous.
