I hear you. I wish the stupid time hadn’t changed. I hate when they do this, and I don’t think I’ve ever talked to anyone who doesn’t hate it, too.
I learned much on my visit back home to Bloomington, IL for the Trump rally yesterday.
I met one of the advance men for Trump, a guy named Robert. I won’t go into much detail about him here, but every campaign has them. You know the type, they’re intense, living out of a suitcase and coffee and two packs of cigs per day. Short tempered and blunt to the point of being rude, but I can only imagine about the kind of people he deals with, esp when they’re hostile to his boss.
He had some interesting insight.
1. This presidential campaign will have spent less money than probably any other in the past 100 years.
2. He said the media, the democrats and the republicans hate Trump, and what he’s doing.
3. He said that he has a passionate following, working for peanuts, but who believe in the man.
4. They are cautiously optimistic, but expect to sweep everything tomorrow.
5. No plans to ask people to contribute to the campaign at any point, as the RNC is committed to paying the nominee.
6. Virtually, all exposure through the media a free, except for what they pay for occasional ads.
7. Extremely tight security, to the point that they are not at all worried about protesters.
8. Any real attempt on Trump’s life only increases his popularity.
Much more to follow.
