Bravo post
Thanks. Below is the online comment I just left at WaPo under the story where Ben Terris and photog Jabin Botsford perpetuate their hoax. Let’s see if it stays up or is deleted:
Smoking gun: WaPo photog Jabin Botsford tweeted a denial that he was at the event where Fields was allegedly... whatever (”I wasn’t at that event.”). Then Botsford tweeted he didn’t see anything (”I didn’t here [sic] of or see any assaults at that event.”). Huh? When confronted that a photo of the event was attributed to him (”So why is this photo attributed to you and licensing lists your name on it?”), he deleted the original tweet denying his presence, but it had already been archived. That damned Internet!
Terris and Botsford, do you deny this?
We now have plenty of videos and photos from several angles. No yank, no stumble, no assault. Just a whining, disappointed reporter baited by Terris. She took the bait, she exaggerated until it became an outright lie, and Terris had his story. Botsford played along by attempting to toss a tweet into the Memory Hole. How very 1984 of you.
WaPo, do you realize what you’ve just stepped in?
