Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump attacked Gov. John Kasich for supporting free-trade policies the billionaire businessman said have hurt Ohio’s job market and economy, and he accused the governor of abandoning the state while running for president.
During a rally before several thousand supporters here on Saturday, Mr. Trump accused Mr. Kasich of letting the state’s coal and steel industries fade and said Ohio’s economy was only saved by the discovery of shale oil in recent years.
He also accused the two-term governor of being weak on immigration, spending too much time in New Hampshire on the campaign trail and not addressing the state’s problems.

Trump can hit Kasich on many things but one he cannot is Ohio’s economy. I am a resident and he has done a wonderful job with the budget. Now Trump can blast him all he wishes but I’m still waiting for specifics on what he’d have done differently within Ohio let alone specifics beyond platitudes. Explain please Donald.
Ohio has undoubtedly been the beneficiary of a multitude of benefits from shale development, including a staggering uptick in jobs, millions in tax revenues, such as sales, hotel, fuel revenue and income taxes, support of infrastructure, construction of roads and bridges, millions of work hours and wages, and even preserving some of Ohio’s historical landmarks. The positive impacts have been astounding, and the good news continues to come, as Ohio counties have not yet realized another $80 million coming their way in ad valorem tax revenues alone, which feed directly to county coffers and support local schools.
He is attacking his stance on Free Trade not how he has handled the Ohio budget.

Thanks for pointing that out. I stand corrected. I’m a strong supporter of Kasich FOR GOVERNOR of my state. He has been a wonderful Governor
