I watched the YouTube replay, which allowed me to fast forward through most of Reverend Cruz and the others and focus on Trump. Trump remimded me of a parent who kept calmly and rationally explaining things to his teenagers when they weren’t getting the message. The rare moments I saw of Cruz, he was preachy, annoying, condescing, and really just a creep. It’s a near impossible feat to have a chamber of 99 other lowlifes despise you (I guess except Mike Lee), but Ted has pulled it off. Rubio was mostly subdued. There’s room on trade and manufacturing for Kasich to be a viable VP for Trump. I actually rather like Kasich the last few debates. We’ll see. Overall, Trump was calm, cool, collected, a change from his past. He knows he has this and is unifying. He tactfully got his shots in at Ted by reminding everyone that the GOP is bringing in millions of voters and that they are patriots who love their country. Nothing more needed to be said on that. It was a great night for Trump. I havent supported a candidate this strongly since Reagan, who I was not old enough to vote for. Just a teen at the time.

Cruz’s jet engine level shrillness really stood out because the other candidates dialed down their tone.

On the thread last night, Trump Family members were coming up with various words to describe Cruz, one of which was sanctimonious.

Just saw this from Paglia (didn’t read the entire article), but she really lays it on the line:

“From my perspective as a fervent supporter of the ruggedly honest and principled Bernie Sanders, Trump with his pragmatic real-life record is a far more palatable national figure than Ted Cruz, whose unctuous, vainglorious professions of Christian piety don’t pass the smell test. Trump is a blunt, no-crap mensch, while Cruz is a ham actor, doling out fake compassion like chopped liver. Cruz’s lugubrious, weirdly womanish face, with its prim, tight smile and mawkishly appealing puppy-dog eyebrows, is like a waxen mask, always on the verge of melting. This guy doesn’t know who the hell he is—and the White House is no place for him and us to find out.”

Rush, thinks Cruz is the perfect conservative candidate, and he says the GOPe has to unite around him to defeat Trump.

Why don’t they unite around the winner? We have a bona fide winner here.

Let’s start getting some endorsements.

“Trump remimded me of a parent who kept calmly and rationally explaining things to his teenagers when they weren’t getting the message. “

That’s absolutely exactly what I was thinking. Every answer, the cabana boys gave, circled eventually around to a snarky remark about Trump.

The exchanges about Islam was perfect. Trump throws out a six or seven word answer saying they hates us. I don’t know why. You tell me.

Then the rest of those bozos try to explain to us that they don’t hate us.

The disconnect is amazing.

The man will be our next president unless someone from inside shoots him. The only way that will happen is from someone who is dressed like security.
